Does anyone know what the deal was with the wing that was on the Equalizer I think it was from 1992 during the PENDA series but I am not sure. I know it was before they repainted it for Monster Wars in 1993.

O'yea I remember that thing too...... I did not fit the truck at all. I remember watching it on tv when he had that wing and the rear suspension gave out... It was the extra weight of that big o wing ! lol

Which could be a good reason why it never worked out and was only used for a little bit.

As for Monster Patrol being the only truck with a wing, Mad Dog had a wing on top of the roll cage covering the driver and obviously Equalizer had a wing for a short while. However these two I can pardon as they were either rarely known or rarely used.

Didn't mad dog have the wing in Harrisburg(sp?) back in like 88?

lets not forget Overkill who currently runs a small wing. or Mike Welches Outlaw.

Also, Jack Koberna's Cyborg ran a small wing behind the cab in the late 1990s.

BLS was a repainted Monster Patrol so I file it under the whole "A Bigfoot team truck is a Bigfoot truck" theory.

know what really makes me laugh? Equalizer has ALWAYS had some type of wing... even before the monstrosity that we're currently talking about, Equalizer utilized a very small spoiler mounted to the top of the tailgate. it remained on even after they added the spoiler. check it out:

It seems like they asked about that wing in one of the interviews during that race where the rear suspension collapsed, maybe not? Anyone remember for sure?

actually shawn, that isn't entirely true. the years when the truck ran a pro-net rather than a tailgate ('88-'89, and from mid '92 on) the rear spoiler was absent. i'd show you pics but taft has redone his site now so you can't even get the image url's anymore - i guess he doesn't want people visiting his site.

if you want pics from tafts site, click and drag the picture to the top of your browser screen, it'll go to the direct url and you can get the image then..

Basically when the truck was still red?

Knowing Gary I would say he found the wing in his back yard and stuck it on the truck to make it look different.

bully - no, basically the only time that it did run a wing was from '90 through the first quarter of '92. after that, the truck went back to no wing when they switched up the shock setup.

also shawn - dennis has been changing the site to where all the images are embedded now and you can't click or drag on them at all. some pages haven't been converted yet but a lot of them have. i'm still loving the "your ip has been logged and criminal action will be taken against you for trying to save copyrighted material" - maybe i was trying to see the attributes or the file name of the pic? what a joke - what's even better is that all of his "copyrighted" material is copyrighted/stolen from someone else.

I meant when the truck didn't have a spoiler.
