Thats a truck you dont see much. Wasnt it the truck in "Return of the Monster Trucks" that they show in the water, tire side up?

I did research on this truck, back in 1999. Actually found Brian Cardiff, and asked him questions.

Turns out the truck was eventually sold to Golden State Promotions (Seth Daulton) and from there- Seth ended up rebuilding it into one of his trucks.

I was under the impression that the Giant rolled over, then was either rebuilt or sold and rebuilt into Hawaiian Punch.

Let me clarify what I meant, sry.

Cardiff flipped in the lake and was sold to GSP. After being sold it was rebuilt into Hawaiian Punch.

After Hawaiian Punch, it became something eagle before it went overseas. Trevor

Cardiff Giant and Hawiian Punch were actually two different trucks. Hawiian Punch was built on a straight rail frame whereas Cardiff Giant was based on an OEM frame but was used to build to build the hawiian punch truck

Not sure if anyone asked this. But what made this truck flip in the water? Not enough pressure in the tires or etc?

IIRC it was something to do with the center of gravity in the truck. don't quote me on that though.

They hit an underwater rock with front tire that started the roll.

at one time CG did get turned into hawaiian punch for a short period of time...

brian use to live just up the hill from me.... i can remember plenty of times seeing it down here in the valley... my dad helped him out a few times

i heard the story about the lake flip from dave matthews the promotor of the show aka ZZYZX motorsports - he still tells the story to this day

the last i heard of brian he was living in discovery bay here in the velly of california by tracy

http://www.monstermayhem.org/forums/images/imported/2009/11/243.jpg

this is the lake just around the corner from the livestock events center there in reno

from the looks of the pictures the rebuild might of either taken place at donny's 4wd or Big Foot Welding

theres a 20 pages thread about this

seth bought hawiian punch! there where some kind of copyright problem with name hawiian punch and the name was changed to the flying eagle and then it ran under other names as well

btw where are the leaf sprong trucks you would come back with with your sons as the driver?

I'll never forget Brian and the Cardiff. They use to come to Klamath falls Or. for the pulls when Dave Mathews was the promoter of NFPA (National four wheel drive pulling association). Him and Dewey Middlecamp came over to our house for dinner, thats when they were hauling the truck with the big tires still on it. I had heard that Dewey passed away recently.....he was a good guy. So i make a correction just so the facts are straight an you feel you need to stir the pot huh. It seems that no one is pleased till a thread is hijacked an everyone is pissed off,.! Yea i was aware he bought the hawaian punch, he also bought the cardiff, an sampson 1, an weapon 1, They got changed an mixed an matched there were a couple rocks, bosses, ect. There was at one point in time in excess of 10 trucks of his at the shop.

The trucks are doing good, But due to the holidays the attention will be turned off them till FEB, Not enough money to go around. Fyi

Ok, here is a photo of the former Cardiff Giant truck, months after it was bought by Seth Daulton. Picture taken in Anaheim, CA. at the Big A.

As you can clearly see, the old Cardiff paint is still visible, with a white overlay. Skoal graphics, were applied to make the Skoal Crusher.
