And now for an...Embarrassing Story from an Admin's Past!
Vorian did a display for an auto show up here when I was about 8 or 9 years old. For 5 bucks, you could sit in the driver's seat and have your photo taken. So, I did. On the way out, I tagged something with my knee because it made this clicking noise. The guy with it ran over and shut it off quickly. Later on, they transformed it without turning the jets on. And it made that same clicking noise before it transformed...
I still have the pic. That thing is literally 20 ft. tall, too.

Was anyone at the event where Vorian actually fatally wounded the alien actor?? I've always been curious if there was photos or video of that.

Early in Vorian's life they decided he needed to fight someone.
Much like galactron vs. Reptar.
Basically, Vorian would pretend to shoot at the actor, fireworks would go off in Vorian's hand then there would be an explosion that came out of the actors costume. The costume was packed carefully so that the explosion would work the same way everytime and, of course shoot away from the guy's chest.
At one show the pyro was packed upside down.
Vorian Killed no one. He fights for Good.

Emergency 1
To kick things off, I will post the history of our first jet car, The Emergency 1.
In the early 70's, my dad was driving an econorail dragster. After all his time running Stock, Junior Fuel, and Top Fuel, he wanted to just go out and have fun. At the time the econorail class was new and supposted to be economical. But with everything as you go faster, so does your spending. My dad was never one to go 7.90 if he could go 6.90.
After a few years, Bill Mattio would worked on the fuel cars with my dad, came and talked with my dad. Throwing out words like fun, fast, and putting money in the bank vs withdrawls sparked an interest in this "Jet stuff". Bill was already running the J-34 Westinghouse powered Chicago Fire, and wanted to build a second car. After more discussions, they teamed up and Bill's new car would be the New Chicago Fire, but what to call the old car. After some brainstorming the Emergency 1 "World's Fastest Fire Truck" was born.
The car was taking to Lee Austin to design and build the body to resemble a fire truck, and Dan Onate applied the candy apple red and gold paint to it. All it needed was the final touch, the red strobe on the roll cage!
After running the Emerency 1 for a few years, Bill wanted to build a newer car again. We had decided to sell the Emergency 1 and buy Bill's car. A man named Joe Donaldson bought the car, but not the body or the name Emergency 1. He had a new body designed by someone in Southern Califorina that was a cross between a ski boat and a space ship. He went through the entire car and rebuilt it all.
Unfortunately during the first test fire at Orange County International Raceway, something was wrong and the car was destroyed and Joe seriously injured.
The remains of the car and body was sold and eventually rebuilt into the transforming jet car known as the Vorian.
The Vorian is own by a man in New Mexico, and from what I was told currently in the process of being restored with some assistance by Doug Rose of the Green Mamba fame. posted by Curt Eierdam at 6:35 AM 0 comments

Man those things are scary. Most likely I'd p-i-s-s down my leg if Vorian somehow thought I was fighting for evil and drew his fireworks-laden fist on me. My mom always said there's nothing worse than being vaporized by a transforming jet car/robot.

Additional note: How cool is it that the same hydraulic cylinders used on these intergalactic Robots are the same as the ones available at your local Farm & Fleet stores? I mean....I don't know what NASA is spending all their money on, but apparently somebody @ Eaton has tapped into some alien technology for their comprehensive line of hydraulic cylinders.

I have the article its just misplaced at the moment, but it was around late 80's/early 90's time, pyro was put on upsided down on the guy who played the alien, and when it detonated it blew a chunk of metal into the guys chest, fatally wounding him instantly.
The photo of Vorian in Dinkas post is Alan Turas Transtormer Transformer. The one sold to europe was Beastron, and now has a batman theme to it.
I have an article on almost every incident happening in the industry, from injury to fatality. For those who I know will question it, Grave Diggers caused the most injuries, while piloted by Dennis too.

Teen killed as altered truck flips in arena
BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) - A traveling "monster truck" show turned deadly at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds when a truck flipped over, killing one teen-ager and injuring others.
About 2,000 people watched the accident Friday, when a standard-sized pickup mounted on 68-inch tires came barreling into the arena. The truck hit a 3-foot high mound of dirt, sending its front end into the air.
After hitting a second mound, its throttle stuck and the truck crashed into some metal fencing. It climbed upward and flipped over on its back, trapping a young motorcyclist under one of its wheels and sending the other eight or nine riders running for cover, said Bingham County Sheriff Dale Holm.
The trapped rider, Riley Jo Monroe, 14, of Soda Springs, was pronounced dead at Bingham Memorial Hospital. Two other youths also were taken there and treated for unspecified injuries.
The truck driver, Gregory Winchendach, 24, of Bangor, Maine, was taken by helicopter to Bannock Regional Medical Center in Pocatello, Holm said.
Holm said he thought the driver had broken his leg. A hospital spokesman said Winchendach was in stable condition Friday night.
"It was horrible. It had to be the worst thing I've ever seen," said Carol Howell, a Firth woman whose husband, Dennis Howell, jumped out of the grandstands and ran to help get Monroe out from under the truck.
When the truck flipped, Carol Howell said, the crowd gave a collective gasp.
"And then everyone just got very quiet," she said.
The driver was ejected from the truck and lay motionless nearby.
It took about 10 minutes to free Monroe. The black truck, which bears the name "Radioactive" in turquoise letters, was nearly totaled. The show went on and was scheduled for Saturday night.
Linda Beckley of Chequered Flag Promotions, which runs the show, said the same truck was involved in a rollover last weekend in Coeur d'Alene.
"We're just sick about this," she said. "In 15 years of doing this, we've never seen anything this bad."
There is about 5 different versions of it, pretty much all the same info in each
