Any idea on if their will be a sixth truck, and if so who might it be? Also any ideas on the ride truck? I am thinking the Predator ride truck since they will be their. Also, when will tickets go on sale? I have tried calling AMP several times today and no answer. The Farm Show Complex did tell me that VIP tickets are $25 and general admission is $17. They could not tell me when they would go on sale. Thanks for any info.

Oh man, I haven't seen Frenchy since 03'. Its 347 miles away from home, so that means 4 tanks of gas round trip. And 6 hours away... oooOOooo baby.

im not sure what I am and am not allowed to say about the show, so i will say this: the lineup on the amp site is indeed correct, and that anyone who goes is in for one helluva show!
and make sure to say hi and go crazy as ill be working the track crew prior to the show and filming the show for one of my highlight videos!
Hope to see a lot of people there!

We'll be in the house for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing Rob French drive, and I haven't seen any of Pezo's trucks since Bloomsburg in 06.
I was going to order the tickets on Ticketmaster, but would love to skip their fees. The link to order through AMP didn't seem to be working though, so maybe I'll have to go get them at that Harley dealer they mentioned.

On a side note, any pictures of Dragonfly?

Were you able to get tickets at the Harley dealer Daniel? And if so how much did they charge you?

The online ordering thru AMP is up now, and it would be cheaper than going thru ticketmaster-but there seem to be about 6 different levels/packages for a general admission show. Oh well, I'll get them sometime.

Would the chances be pretty good that there will still be tickets available for this on Saturday? I never ordered them online and at this point I would just rather pick up tickets at the Farm Show box office earlier in the day as we'll be driving down in the morning to visit with some family first.

this is the first time ive ever been to this show, im working at it, but from what ive been told by the higher ups is that the event does sell out rather quickly. whether that means presale goes quickly or day of show goes quickly, im not so sure. i realize that i didnt help as much as someone else could, but i did feel i should warn you that their is a chance that you cant get tickets on saturday. good luck im sure youll figure something out! maybe someone who knows a little better can post here too but i did want to get the warning out.

I went ahead and bought my tickets thru AMP tonight-so I'll have to get them at will call on Saturday. I think it may actually be filling up, as ticketmaster wouldn't let me buy anything in the higher price level.

Also, since there will be more than a few of us there are we doing a meetup at the pit party or anything? Is Charlie still running his Jeep there?

i know i'm sore with a headache. i had a good time and grabbed 3rd place in the tuff trucks with my black mercury tracer with the number 10 on it and won 80 bucks. i dont know about the monster trucks because i didn't get to watch them because i had to stay backstaged and strapped in. it was good to have tuff trucks back at an old traditional place.
there were some issues backstage, some i heard about and some i witnessed but i'll post that at another time. i'm tired and going to bed.

You mean Drama at a Amp Show!!! They are really slacking and un-Professional. I think they are on a crash and burn course. Just look at the New Players there....What a joke!

kelly carrington won the wheelie, it was predator over viper in the finals, and rob french rocked the house with a freestyle that put monster jam freestyle in philly to shame. altho, the event was great, some drunk guy ruined it for his family and about three others around me. i am glad they escorted him out, just not soon enuff.

time for an intervention maybe?

anyways here's what happened at harrisburg. i bit my tongue at the event. they were already getting an ear full.

1. no one knew the top 5 were running again until after we all ran and not only that i almost didn't get to run the top 5 because i was tied with someone else so they were going to do top 4 instead and i had to find all this stuff out from that driver i tied wit just minutes before it was our turn to go.

2. the stock tuff truck purse payout was NOT 100% of registration money like they had promised. they took $170 of our hard earned money out of our purse and gave it to the pro truck guys because they had somewhere around only 6 trucks and we had 20 or 30 stock.
there were issues before the show where someone asked if we could have a or trash can at the end of the track to layout the course and have no one cut the corner too tight and the official said "well if we do that then the pro trucks won't be able to make that corner" and we weren't even talking about the pro trucks we were talking about stock tuff trucks and they knew that.
alright let me explain something to you.
for a whole month a bunch of STOCK tuff truck drivers got together and handed out flyers and layed out our best tuff truck footage at the motorama event back in febuary because the promoter of this event asked us too. when i came to this event i was excited because it was the event that rick, trevor, jeremiah, bill, myself and a few others helped promote and i heard there was going to be a huge turnout which was around 20 to 30 tuff trucks all together. one of my friends came down the day before the event to help out at the track and i even came down early and helped a little bit myself. i did not see one single pro arena truck driver get involved with one SINGLE piece of the show other than just sit back in pits and talk to each other and to the monster truck drivers!
what am i saying? i'm saying our stock tuff truck guys helped promote a show and a couple of us help setup a show and then got treated in a way that just wasn't right. we had $170 taken away from our purse and then we were told to get out of the building and had to doors shut on us in the cold thinking we werent going to get paid for almost and hour and it was cold last night!

3. i heard alot and i mean alot of people getting pissed off at the official walking around with a cane. i think i heard at least 5 people say the wanted to beat the living day lights out of him and i know one guy who really was considering it. i even saw one participant get in this officials face and say "this show sucks, VERY unorganized" and this offical said "you want to say that to me again?!" and this guy got right back in his face and said the same exact thing in the same exact poed manner and left. this guy did to seem have some kind of an attitude problem because he was always pushing people around and stuff like that.

overall here's what i think. i had fun racing, it was a good track setup especially for that small of an arena. i did feel it was a little unorganized but i don't think it was as unorganized as some said it was. i did meet a few cool people but one guy needs to watch how he treats others because he WILL get whats coming to him if he acts like that at every show. i didn't like having money taken away from our purse of course and you don't have to believe me when i say this but it is true. it would not have made a difference if i was in the top five or not, i would still bring it up.
there were issues at the show BUT i still had a blast! i could not believe how much the crowd was into the tuff trucks and this show was SOLD THE HECK OUT!!! it was awesome! will i come back to another amp show? of course, a monster truck fan or tuff truck driver doesnt give up just because of experiences.
NEVER GIVE UP!

Overall the show was fun, but it definitely did not flow very well. To me it just seemed there was too much time when there were no monsters on the track. I could have done with only 1 session of FMX and no quad race, but maybe that's just me. The tuff trucks were fun as always.

Richie had a great night in Viper. I thought he beat Allen in racing and had a great freestyle kicked off with a sweet donut and multiple hits on the double van stack.

The racing seemed rushed and the 3rd place race between Prowler/Dragonfly never really happened when the trucks got shut down midrace. Lenny wouldn't bring Prowler back out to re-run. (can't blame him) Twisted Dragon appeared to have a broken rear axle in wheelies and did not race.

Allen delivered what has to be the loudest freestyle run I've ever seen. Not alot of big air- but huge noise, big momentum and some nice donuts. It seemed like he broke the front steering and possibly a shock at the end of his run.

As Daniel said above, Rob French was basically trying to destroy his truck and anything in its path. It didn't seem to be running nearly 100% and he actually got shut down once, but just imagine Meents at WF5 in a small arena. He crossthreaded the van stack and then reversie/crossthreaded over it again. He was spinning donuts and just hammering everything.

IMO it actually started to feel a little unsafe/out of control during the last part of his run. I'll be anxious to hear others opinions on that one.

BTW Charlie I've got a picture of you racing I will post shortly, didn't realize it was you.

March 22nd, 2009, 12:28 PM
cool jason. thanks! i can't wait to see it. sounded like i had a good run cause i heard the crowd going nuts and some of the pro mod drivers saying i did awesome. i can't wait to see if thats true.
i know what you mean about rob frenchs run starting to look a little unsafe, he was slamming into the cars while his truck was trying to do donuts and they only had two front rows on the side of the arena blocked off. i could easily see the potential there.

1)I need to state something here while sitting in my truck I observed all of this................when an official asks the same people to not be inside a tunnel for the 30th time in a one show night. It is not for his health but YOUR safety! There was a problem with lack of security....Yes there was but when someone asks you(that had a track staff shirt on no less) to not be somewhere more then once and you think you can just go back to the same place 5 mins after he told you not to be there.

2) About the pay out......if there is a problem call Scott Hart who owns AMP!

I need to know why did this guy say the show sucked and was very unorganized because the same guy was told to get out of an active tunnel with monster trucks running around??????????????

Just my 2 cents you can get Pissed off at me but that is the facts that I observed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And after the show we all looked at the video and I did win against Pezo!!!!!!

i think you got it a little bit wrong there were no monster trucks moving around in the tunnels but there was a freestyle on the floor. now if trucks were in the tunnels moving around then i'm wrong and apologize but i'm pretty sure the truck was on the floor freestyling. this guy and his family wanted to go up the ramp to get in the stands and the official wouldn't let him. this official wouldn't let us back in the building when we finished running. not even to take the ramps to the stands or food or to use the bathroom i know i had to sneak around him jus be able to do that. but when someone else took his spot they were cool with it. i know this guy wouldn't even let me into the pit party.
you don't have to be an a***ole to have a safe show and we should be allowed at least back into the building to watch the rest of it. i have a copy of another fellow racer's email feedback about the show and it does state that we were continuously forced out of the building. i did see in the email that he had problems with big ron which i did not experience at all. i personally don't remember having a single problem what so ever with him. good guy.
a new post just popped up on the other forum and some new info i didn't know about i'm gonna see if i can get permission to post it on here.

im very tired right now, so im gonna discuss a few issues tomorrow, but one i would like to discuss now is the call that allen won over richie. I was the Kid doing video there that ron leech asked who won. it looked like viper to me originally, but after reviewing the video it was way too close to call, and predator did seem right at that moment. it was certainly the closest race of the night as well! after just reviewing my video again now, i still cannot tell. the right call was made at the show however

True you do not have to be a***ole to have a safe show but I was just stateing what I saw from my truck! Some things could have gone better. But if someone is saying they should kick the officials ***...........well how does that make the tuff truck people look? Like I said...........this is my 2 cents.

ok here are two posts about the show. they confirm that we were continuously forced out of the building. these are not my thoughts or opinions NOR DOES IT MEAN I AGREE WITH ANY OF IT 100%. i'm just posting what was said by these people.
i will admit some of the racers i know do have a temper. even one of the guys decided to go fast and furious tokyo drift after he found out he didn't make it to the final.

post 1

"I finally had to walk away from Ron when I tried talking to him with Jeremiah and Shawn. I was furious, because on his list of times, I finished behind a truck that had been pushed off the track (should have been a DNF) with a forklift.....I got beat by a frigging FORKLIFT?? Are you kidding me??I have to disagree with Charlie on this a little...It was extremely unorganized. First, we had to e-mail entries...ok...did that....THEN we had to fax entries...ok...did that...but still, some who had preregistered weren't showing up on thier lists. How hard would it have been to give each person a number as they signed in? Even if they just ran us how we sat, they could have had the track 'official' (and I use that term very loosely) radio up to the announcer what # truck it was, and he could of had some idea who was on the track. There were any number of ways that it could have been made more efficient. If they would have simply asked any one of the drivers, any of us could have told them the set-up (or lack there-of) they were using was just going to cause confusion.
I have a serious problem with being shut out of the building, thrown out, and yelled at like a 6 year old because they were too stressed out because they were running a shoddily planned event and it was biting them in the ***. When one of my kids takes out thier frustration in the form af a temper tantrum (which is what I really consider these *******es actions were), I punish them.
And I will NEVER run an AMP event again. I haven't been doing this very long, but even I am smart enough to know the old saying...screw me once, shame on you, screw me twice shame on me....I'm not going for that second chance of getting screwed....cause I don't know about ya'll but I'm not one who appreciates getting screwed without getting kissed, so to speak.
And I sure don't mean being screwed by inaccurate times, etc. I made an error and was out of the running at being anywhere near the top 5. (although I was more than a little furious about the times variences)
But I was not the only one who seriously considered bodily harm to the guys that kept running us out of the building. They have no people skills whatsoever. I have seen better manners in a 3 year old preschool class....did anyone else notice that they EVEN THREW THIER OWN SECURITY TEAM OUT INTO THE COLD? ? ? ?

No... I have no plans, what-so-ever to ever running in a show where these goofballs are running it...and worse yet...I will never ATTEND an event held by these guys, because I know firsthand how lousy they threat thier competitors!!!"

"Ok boys and girls, after last nights debacle, I went on Amp's website and found email address's for Scott Hart, President [email protected]

I copied the email I sent them. Thought you all might like to read it. Ill correct some of my language as this is a family site

Gentlemen;
It is Sunday morning and I have just returned from the Farm show complex in Harrisburg PA and racing Tuff Trucks at this event. I would like to take this opportunity to give you some feedback on the show. As a bit of background, I have been racing Tuff Trucks for 4 years and have raced the majority of the venues in a 100 mile radius on Harrisburg. I am a racer as are most of the participants that showed up for this event. There were only a couple of the run what you brung and lets jump something participants. Most of the 22 entries in the stock class where serious racers that travel to Tuff Truck events and strive to do well and put on a good show.
That being said, I would like to let you know that your event was the most poorly run, shoddily organized event it has ever been my displeasure to attend. I would like to take this opportunity to bring some of the low lights to your attention;
1) From the start, the registration process was poorly handled with some faxed registration forms not being received even after multiple re faxes.
2) Event information was scarce at best and since the race info was coming from multiple sources, it was never consistent.
3) After arriving at the requested time, we were given no instruction as to were to be and what to do. After a unloading, we walked to registration. The registration people were fine and did their job with no problems, but the two individuals that were running the track, Big Ron and another gentleman whose name I didn't catch but was limping around on a cane and for our purposes we will call Big Idiot, were about as pleasant as a rash. We were immediately impolitely shouted at to leave the building. I understand that they were moving monster trucks around, but if they needed to do that and we needed to sign up and have access to the rest rooms etc, then other arraignments should have been made. Failure to plan on there part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
4) No numbers were drawn or assigned to competitors. We received word from one of the competitors that we were to line up outside the tunnel entrance. At one point Big Ron walked the line of Tuff Truck entries and made a list with our names and year and make of truck. This is not how an organized event is run
5) We were told the drivers meeting would take place at 7pm. During the Pit Party, we were kept out of the building by Big Ron and Big Idiot and never given an opportunity to see the track or take part in the event.
6) After waiting in line outside for almost two hours (temps in the 30s) at 7.22 pm a few of us corralled Big Ron at the tunnel entrance and managed to catch a few details about where the starting line was, how the track was to be run, what the pull on/pull off procedure was. No drivers meeting or chance to see the track ever took place.
After the first three Tuff Trucks ran it was clear that no one on the track had a clue as to what was going on, who was who or who was on the track. After the first three they stopped announcing names.
9) After our run, which the run format was never made clear. One run? two runs? We were told top four to the finals, top five to the finals and one official threw his hands in the air and said " I dont know" that seemed to be the truest thing I heard all night. We were not given our individual times. After a long break (did I mention It was cold outside, Yeah did I mention we were shoved outside again) we were told which four? made the finals. Some checking and rechecking took place and two more competitors also got to run.
10) After the finals were over, we waited around again outside( thanks Big Ron and Big Idiot) for these dunderheads to try and figure out there mistakes. After quite some time and a rather large group of all the competitors from Tuff Truck, Pro Truck and Quads gathering in what was quickly becoming an angry mob, we all pushed our way inside and waited some more for the money and results. When we looked at the results sheet for Tuff Trucks, we were appalled. It was not the same sheet with names and trucks on it. It was a hand written, brief description( Blue Jeep, Black Jeep etc) of the trucks that ran and there times. Problem was, it was completely inaccurate and due to that fact I may or may not have finished 2nd and been due an opportunity to run in finalls. We approached Big Ron about this and were told "the race is over, nothing I can do" In the interest of fairness, he did give me $13.00 he had in his pocket, but the money was not the issue. I signed up and paid my entry fee. I raced my butt off and if I made the finals, then ****** I want my chance to run and try to win the whole deal. I never got that chance and his $13.00 doesnt make up for that.
11) Prize money was distributed incorrectly. The Tuff Truck purse was supposed to be 100% payback. 22 enties in stock Tuf Trucks times $30 equals $660.00 and after all was said and done, only $490.00 was given back to the Stock Tuff Truck winners. When approached about this, Big Ron informed us that the Pro truck racers didnt have enough entries to make the $500 payout so they gave them $170.00 of our money.

I think that about covers it. Let me close by saying im sure mine will not be the only email you will recieve. I know everyone was upset with how this event was run and to add insult to injury, there were several individualls form the local Tuff Trck Community who bent over backwards to assist in putting on this event only to be told that KSR motorsports knew what they were doing. Boy where they wrong. I can deal with the lack of organization, the lack of planning etc and I will come to terms with the fact that I might have finiished 2nd but got cheated out of a chance to know for sure. But the thing that gripes me the most is when I show up at a show, I am aware that Monster trucks put a$$es in the seats. But I also know that you cant fill a three hour show with just mnonster trucks. You decided to run Tuff Truck, You wanted us there and then to have your people treat us like ba$**** stepchildren. Bull$hit. I dont expect to be treated like a racer. I demand it. My money is just as green as everyone elses and If thats the way Amp and KSR is gonna treat the racers at thier events, youll never see me, or a whole lot more of us at you events again."

I am not sucking up to AMP by any means, but this must have just been one of those one off nights. I have worked the AMP show down here with Ron Leach for the past 2 years and have nothing but high thoughts about how he ran the show. So I guess it was just a bad night.

Now I believe I read that Richie said people kept going in a tunnel, and kept being asked to move. We had that problem here with the Quad riders, its normally a case of people not knowing how to listen.and if you were hangin in the tunnel while a truck was freestyling, I had no idea that there is no one an out of control monster truck can make it into a tunnel. Now Charlie, despite all that happened I hope you still had fun, because having fun is what its about, right?

True you do not have to be a***ole to have a safe show but I was just stateing what I saw from my truck! Some things could have gone better. But if someone is saying they should kick the officials ***...........well how does that make the tuff truck people look? Like I said...........this is my 2 cents.

and i can name monster truck drivers who threatened to beat up a 13 year old and i can name a monster truck driver who got on the mic saying their town and fans sucked. EVERY motorsport has bad eggs. am i one? possibly. i have a temper but i'm able to bite my tongue and keep cool just like i did last night. my issue though isn't with safety its with RESPECT FOR OTHERS.

I wasn't there, but I can say that if a monster was freestyling you should have had the sense to stay well out of the way which includes staying out of a tunnel. Especially if you'd already been told once that a particular tunnel and/or area was off-limits. I won't comment on how you were told to move since again I wasn't there.

I will say if you're pissed mainly because you were asked multiple times to move from a certain area, then you're at fault. Sounds like there were some other issues with the show that may have been AMP's problem though.

If you go to a Feld event, expect to have those same off-limit areas when monsters are running.

this isn't just about that one time this about throughout the whole night not being allowed in the building EVER! pit party, bathroom, stands and food i had to sneak around this guy just to go to the bathroom, get chicken fingers during the pit party because he wouldn't let us in! only time i was allowed in was when i ran PERIOD! rest of the show i saw next to nothing!
edit* i just now remember seeing people peeing outside around a wall because the weren't allow in to go and this was at the pit party as well!

Now I am confused.................."who threatened to beat up a 13 year old and who said on the mic that their town and fans sucked?" I really think Mr. Wagner you need to explain this

In one of the letters you listed about "Big Ron and Sean" well "Big Ron" was the event coorinator and Sean was told to keep EVERONE out of that tunnel. I understand there was problems with information and I have a feeling AMP will take that into consideration for future shows. All I could state that people were asked numerious times to not be in the tunnel.

For the record this was NOT a KSR event. KSR was just running the Mopar 1 ride truck at this event.

I thought it was an overall good show. The only problem was that it took sometime to get the next monster truck on the floor since the tunnel is spread out and it took time to back trucks into the holes.

it was years ago i'm not gonna bring up names without someones permission. i'll talk to the guy who was involved with them and see if its ok to say who. i remember the situations very well and they come from a reliable source (in my opinion anyways). i know they guy who got on the mic saying the town and fans sucked got kicked out and banned from the promoter. i'll say that much for now.
i actually know the name of the driver who threatened the kid but i can only remember the name of the truck that got ejected from the other incident.

****.......Wish i wasnt running our show in Montana this weekend. I would have gone to this show since its only 20mins from me.

Although I did have some old friends there that i have not heard from in years and they called me today to see if i had anything to do with the show because they said the show was very long, and very very unorganized. And said they would guess the people running the show had probably never ran one before because of the lack of preperation put forth.

Had a few tuff truck drivers call me (since i use to run with them all) and they all told me the same thing as well as their was no tuff truck drivers meeting or rules set into place for them.

I would have to agree with Richie and who ever was there running the show that there is no reason for Tuff Truck Drivers to be standing anywhere but outside by their vehicles or up in the stands. I do not allow them to huddle at a tunnel at my shows either. I think this is just common sense.

I have read all these things and it amazes me,,,,,I know NOTHING ever goes PERFECT, but it should go smoothly,,,,I hope the BUGS are worked out before Utica,,,,,Which the info is still not posted on their web sight for,,,,I'm just disappointed with show promoters who don't keep their sights updated with shows...how can people know about a show close to them unless it is posted,,,,1 week away and nothing about the show,,,,,,,Thank You Rich for clueing me in on the trucks for Utica,,,,haven't gotten a call back or email from AMP at all,,,,,,,I also heard they were coming to our areana in April,,,again,,,NO info from promoter,,,,,I appreciate drivers like Rich because keeping in touch with him helps me know a few shows are coming my way,,,,HOPEFULLY see you on Friday Rich!!!

i enjoyed the show, except the second fmx. the tuff trucks did look unorganized, as most did not know what to do after their run. and i felt they should have atleast had a cone in the turn. their are videos on youtube of most of the show. i also got some video, mainly frenchs run. i am like jason the last part of his freestyle i began to feel unsafe with the cars moving like they did, and knowing the truck was already having issues.

i don't remember what all i typed in the review but yeah the tuff trucks was unorganized. i remember running all around the pits with the guys trying to find out where the driver's meeting was and it turns out they decided not to have one and not tell us.
after we ran i found out from a tuff truck driver instead of an official that there was a top 5 finals with the tuff trucks and 5 minutes before the top 5 was about to begin i found out i was in it and i found this out no from an official but from another tuff truck driver.
if we knew what our times were we couldve found out who was in the finals ahead of time but nope.
there are literally 3 different forums all together with different people i have seen who are upset with the show. if amp wants to blame tuff trucks and remove us from next year so be it, they can play the blame game on the quads and dirt bikes next year since theyre not gonna have us. just watch. i might even sign up to race quads next year just to watch the drama unfold.
i have been to a few amp shows before with unorganized events and troubles but this year they made an absolute *** of themselves. there was one track i stopped going to because i absolutely HATED going go it whether it would be racing or spectating, but after harrisburg's experience i'm gonna start racing there again i'll never dread going to the other track EVER again! i'll do whatever i have to in order to make my car and/or jeep legal for that track. zane knows who i mean.
