If anyone could pull it off I think it would be awesome

I'm always in amazement at how smoothly racing trucks with that setup land huge jumps, it would probably be different for an MT, it's probably not impossible.

I don't think wheelies (especially slap wheelies) or saves would be very 'easy' compared to a solid axle truck, but I guess you don't know till someone tries it.

I have researched independent suspension for Monster Trucks for twenty years. The parts to make it happen already exist. It's not a question of if it can be done, it's a question of is it worth trying given the current (Showbusiness) state of the Industry. Furthermore, there is MUCH room for improvement in current four-link, live axle setups used in most MT's so its not like the development wall has been hit on that front anyway.

Also, FWIW, the rzeppa style CV joint that's used in most driven IS systems is already used in Monster Trucks. Some Clarks, I think all Pettibones, and most Rockwell corners have rzeppas as well as some 5-ton military knuckles. Also be aware that Meents now uses a rzeppa joint in his axles. Like I said, the parts to do it exist.

The term CV is abbreviated for constant velocity - which in our term doesn't exist.

Show me a way and i'll believe, otherwise I think this is all outside talking in.

The term Constant Velocity, in context of the joint, refers to the rotational speed of the shaft, not the speed of the vehicle. In a CV joint, the angle of operation does not effect the rotational speed of the shaft. In a cardan joint, the angle of operation does effect rotational speed.

Personally, I'd like to try rzeppa joints on MT driveshafts. It's being tried in other applications.

IS is totally doable. I'm not the only person who thinks so .
