Looking for books or info on 5 ton Rockwells

I'd like some media material, namely books, that show step by steps and details on dismantling, rebuilding, etc., for the 5 tonners. Such said book(s) would be helpful if they had blowup shots and pics of everything, too.

Other helpful tips would be things like how to shorten/center the housing and different disc brake options from pinion brakes to wheel brakes.

I mainly want to find a book on these axles kind of like a Chilton manual or whatever.

    Anyone know of anything?

I can answer almost anything you need to know on these axles but as for a book you need to look at the military TM manuels. And ucan shorten but it's not ideal since it makes the housing narrower and then you have to push the tires out further to clear the body. This inturn makes it harder on the kingpins and knuckles if you plan on running stock parts. I'd be more apt to widen the short side and run 2 long shafts then push the tires in plus the longer shafts twist more be fore the break. As per pinion brakes I sell a pinion brake kit for these and so do some other companies. Do your homework before you buy prices vary alot. My complete kit is $250 per axle and it includes everything you need you just gotta run a line to it. Gearhart Engineering sells a wheel brake kit that is off the hook when it comes to quality, there is none better. Hope this helps. If ya have any other questions just ask.

I have a manual that has exploded assembly drawings with every part number listed for each component if that will help, but as far as an instruction manual I can't help. If you want it shoot me your email, but unless I get a message in the next 5 min I probably can't get it to you until Monday.
