I was trying to find some information about this before coming here, but I found nothing. I am going to try to get my CDL this summer probably. I am also highly considering going to an automotive school next year. Obviously, I have driving for Monster Jam in my mind so I'm trying to take some of the steps to get there some day. But I was wondering, how much do FELD drivers get paid? How many weeks out of the year do they work? In whatever I wind up doing, I obviously want to make enough money to steadily help support a family. I was attempting to look up some info so I can try to figure out if this would be in any way possible to do for a career. I really don't know what I want to do for a living right now, so I'm exploring some new ideas. I've wanted to do this since I was a kid, so why not find out some info. Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
i dont think most of them make as much as we think, alot of them have days jobs when they are home, think some of them even work for feld ie work on trucks at the shop, set up the arena, i honestly think most of them do it for the love of the sport and the fame it brings them, there maybe a few exceptions but i dont think any of them are rich from monster jam.
Most drivers and owners have real jobs during the week back home. Just about all of them do it for the love of the sport, anyone looking for the fame will be severely dissapointed. After a show the vast majority of the people there couldnt name one driver, alot of drivers really like that fact. Adam, if you break it down by the hour I would be amazed if it was anywhere near $3.50!!
I know they dont make alot of money, but i assumed more than $3.50 lol Is that including FELD drivers? I will never have enough money to own my own team. Would it be anywhere near a decent living if I was a personal trainer weekdays and somehow got a job driving for FELD at the shows?
low pay....lots and lots of hours. lots of travel time being away from your family most of the year.....you got to hand it to most of the indy drivers anyway. Its not all glory you have to love it and have a serious work ethic! Nice thing is everyone mostly helps each other and most are great guys.
And how many days a week do you get to be home to work your other job? Do you get to come home during the week or are you constantly gone? Thanks again for all the info. Im trying to see if this would be at all realistic lol
