    Question Monster Wars TV Listing

    Members do not see advertisements
Hello, Old School Mayhemers! I was hoping that you folks can help me learn the TV Listings from the old Monster Wars in order. I will be gladly thankful if you do! And if you could, maybe explain the trucks that were at each event and so on and so forth. Thanks and God Bless!

Ep. 9 - New Orleans, LA
    Ep. 10 - West Lebanon, NY 3
    Ep. 11 - Tampa, FL
    Ep. 12 - Louisville, KY 2
    Ep. 13 - Uniondale, NY (Chicago-style)

I always figured that something didn't add up with one of the West Leb shows. Digger was damaged in the early rounds and not in the later ones. Fabricating an entire show...wow.

Actually there were only two West Leb shows in reality, the one of the other three shows is a compilation as well, but was much better done using different camera angles than how they were shown on the other show. The only difference is that the final round at the end is a race that wasn't on any of the other races which is the only part that doesn't match up. In reality, they most likely did those two shows to make the points series work out like it did in reality for the legitimate Camel series, in addition to explaining before the Pontiac finals that there were some points races that they hadn't shown.

I realize this post is very old, but besides West Lebanon 4, which other one was the compilation? The one with the predator win or the one with the bear foot win?

Watching the shows again, it looks like the second West Lebanon show (the one aired after the Pontiac Invitational, with Predator winning) was another compilation episode, since Grave Digger has no damage (from the rollover) in the first run against Taurus, yet the roof damage can be seen in later rounds.

I kind of figured 2 and 4... Where the heck did they get some of that footage though? that's what I want to know. Maybe qualifying runs from both shows to create an episode of runs. I know four was a badly edited jumble of daylight and twilight with runs we'd already seen. There also appeared to have been a race shot at an arena earlier in the year that was never done as an episode, but may have been on the docket originally. I only say because the footage pops up quite a bit and it has been shot from angles more commonly used for television at that time. I believe both Carolina Crusher (wiggins) and Digger (hancock) had rolls during qualifying runs and the ramps appear to be very steep. Predator also still has a pink nose in many of the shots.

I want to say that was either Greensboro, or Charleston. Something like that - the extra West Leb runs were the qualifying runs, and other races from the two real shows shot from different angles. There are one or two races, however, that don't fit in (the finals in both shows) and I'm not sure how they fit into the actual show schedule.

that would explain why the times were significantly slower on some of those runs.

I had been looking for video of that arena show, and here it is in this compilation. 95% sure that would be Hartford, the Civic Center had red seats at the time, and the collapsible seats leave a wall roughly that high.

(Of course, that also ticks me off that Hartford got a full lineup that year and Worcester got only a 6 truck field...)
