Always kind of wondered about this, maybe someone here can clarify for me. How many Bearfoots are there, and why. Current trucks that is. Is it basically like what they do with the multiple Diggers. Is the name still owned by 1 person.

To answer the 1st question, I honestly haven't seen the Bearfoot run in the past year. The name was/is still owned by Paul Shafer but recent people who have leased the name are Mac Plecker and Don King/Chris Guzman. That's the only ones I can think of that's ran in the past five years other than the Shafer version.

To answer the 2nd question, BJ Johnson perhaps? I know he drove Bearfoot for a while and he's had a mohawk for the longest time so he fits the bill.

I could post something witty here, but I decided against it. And now I have wasted your time by making you read this.

Funny I was just thinking about this just last night as well. I know Fred had atleast 12 trucks that were made. After he sold the name and 3 of his trucks to Paul he ran the Bearfoot name on those chassis then would put other names that Paul owns on the Bearfoot chassis. I know Paul had his own trucks that he would put the Bearfoot body on too.
Also Paul would let other drivers run the Bearfoot name on there own trucks like Don King, Chris Guzman and a few others. So as far as how many Bearfoot are there when Paul Shafer ran them, Im not 100% sure. Probably 3 or 4.
Paul Shafer still does own the name and I believe is the only one to own it. I don't think he's currently running any of his truck as of now. Not sure why.
Hope that helps a little. If anyone else would like to clarify, please do!

Just a little note. Paul would sell you any of the names he currently owns, but the asking price is 1,000,000 per name. According to the last coversation I had with him a couple of years back. I think those names dont hold anywhere near that kind of value now. Since they haven't run in quite sometime. Although the histroric names like BEARFOOT, CAROLINA CRUSHER and TAURUS may be worth it?

Yeaaaaaaah, he should put those on ebay with the reserve set at that amount... Just like Everett Jasmer, I think he'd be sorely disappointed to find out how valuable those names are nowadays due to his mismanagement.

Apologies to those who are friends with Paul or work with him, but that's the honest truth.

Also, Tim, Paul does not own the rights to the Taurus name, Jack Willman still does.

Has Paul ever explained his reasoning in keeping the the names other than the money he thinks he can make?
