does anyone know who is driving digger el toro is there to anyone going its on the 7th and 8th
Randy Brown and Chris Baker
I think I'll make it. my father now lives over there in that area, so I'll probly meet up w/ him and go. I should be there, sat night, maybe sunday. maybe see ya there matt
I decided to go to the show last minute. I was shooting in Plattsburgh, NY Friday and Saturday and instead of spending the day driving Sunday, I hopped on the fairy and headed over to the show. Overall it wasn't too bad but nothing crazy. It had some format issues and was really strung out but all the trucks and drivers put on a good show. So here is some of my photos I shot:
Randy Brown playin catch with water balloons by yours truly Bobby Cox
..more in next post
There was a quick donut contest but I wasn't able to get any really good shots of the trucks. They did kick up a lot of dust though when they were out there. Thank goodness the wind was blowing opposite of the grand stands
Mark Hall would take out Chris Baker on a 3-jump straightline drag course
Both trucks getting 'katiwampus" off the 2nd set.
Crushstation would take the win but did not return for the 2nd round
Then after the first round the FMX guys came out for some reason. But nevertheless they pulled off some pretty amazing tricks. Mike Vaters Jr. is on the yellow Suzuki but I didn't catch the name of his partner in crime
The racing finals would see Grave Digger and Raminator. Mark Hall would get the win in the best race of the afternoon
Freestyle started off with Porkchop and his mini-monster
Geremie Dishman would kick off freestyle with a couple nice hits. Nothing crazy but also nothing broke either
Next out would be Crushstation and I have to see by looking at photos of the truck when it first came out it looked kinda weird but in person it looks 100% times better I think. Not afraid to air it out either
Chris Baker and El Toro would follow and he also had a few nice hits but again nothing to write home about. Most importantly its all together at the end of the show
side note*- Wish I took more shots with my wide lens. They looked like garbage in the camera but after some small tweaks to the raw file it didn't turn out too bad
Mark Hall would follow and he suffered the only mechanical failure of the afternoon with a transmission giving its 2 week notice after the only slap wheelie in freestyle.
Then Randy Brown would put a beaten up lookin' #19 through its paces with the highest jumps and longest run out of everyone. I hope his run pops up on youtube because it was true Digger fashion one-upin everyone on everything. Also props for Randy for doing what I call the "Chucky Slide" to close out his freestyle run.
Like I said in the first post it was a good show but nothing too exciting. I wouldn't have driven the 6 hours to just go to the show but since I was working only an hour away I couldn't refuse. Also I thought in previous years they had at least a show n' shine or something else at the show besides the monsters?
i dont think they have had the truck show for a couple of years,
I believe they did a jamboree last year but I could be mistaken
You are correct, this year it was turned into stand-alone monster truck shows and not a Jamboree. Last year we celebrated our 14th Annual New England Jamboree there but the economy dictated we make it just monster trucks this year.
Hopefully we can get it back to a Jamboree someday.
BTW... nice pics SuddenImpact!
Thanks. Was surprised I didn't see you shooting at the show? I've shot video in the past at Bloomsburg and have been playing with photos a little bit since 08.
Fantastic shots, Kyle!
