Ok, I need some feedback from you guys that have been to the World Finals before. Were trying to figure out what is easier/better etc etc..... To rent a car while we're there or to try taking taxi's or what!?!?!!?!? Were going to get there on the 26th and staying til the 31st. Im taking my family and would like to do some site seeing after the fact. Honestly I could use some pros advice on this........... Also how far away is Sam Boyd from the strip ( the imperial hotel )

    Thanks guys,
    Terry

It will cost you a fortune for taxi's, your best bet is to rent a car, especially if you want to see different sights besides the strip.

they do shuttling to and back for Sam Boyd Stadium at the Imperial Palace for about 5 bucks, but u got get there early cuz the lines get crazy long.

and as for sight seeing, well if your gona stay doing stuff on the strip then i'd recommend walking or taxi's, but for getting out and about vegas, then your probly better off renting

From the strip, Sam Boyd is about 15 to 18 minutes away, honestly you will want a rental car as beyond the strip nothing else is close. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is towards north Las Vegas, and so is the Red Rock Canyon. Hoover Dam is about a good 30 to 45 minutes away, so your best bet is to rent a car there brother.......

I went without a car the first time and will never do that again. If you are not planning on leaving the strip or freemont st then it is fine not to have a car, but to get to and from Sam Boyd and anywhere else you may want to visit...go with the rental. I found some for $150 for the week including taxes. Taxis would cost a fortune, it was $20 one way from the Strat to the airport.

    Shuttle or rental?

    Thanks All!
I too am going for the first time and didn't want to get stuck in any "crazy long" lines for a shuttle... especially with a 5 year old and a 78 year old. Sounds like rental is the way to go. Hope it doesn't cost a bloody fortune to park the car at the hotel

I would rent a car,the shuttle took some of the fun out of the weekend for me due to waiting on long long lines and rushing to the lines rite after the show was over, also waiting once we got back to the hotel for other busses to leave before they can let you off the bus. You will also have to wait in line for a shuttle pass. Sam boyd is not really that close to the strip so a taxi may get costly.

i take the shuttle because by the time you have to fight with the traffic and i saw last year how pi$$ed the taxi driver got, hop on the shuttle kick back and relax, on saturday night you really dont wait to long
